News from ICOMOS (2)

There is an extensive damage, not only to the heritage in Yogyakarta itself, but to many areas in the outlying districts. Initial assessments as follow :

TANGIBLE HERITAGE IN YOGYAKARTA

1. The Sultan's Palace :
- Bangsal Trajumas is collapsed which sheltered artifacts and 2sets of gamelan that date from the Majapahit era (Kanjeng Kyai Guntur Laut and Kanjeng Kyai Mahesa Ganggang, tandu Kanjeng Kyai Luwak)
- Bangsal Sri Manganti, columns are damaged
- Ceramic flower pots in the Bangsal Kencono are broken
- The glass doors of the museum are broken
2. Benteng Kraton, the main Pojok Beteng are damaged
3. Damage to the Museum Kereta Keraton (carriage house)
4. Tamansari : the Cemeti island is cracked
5. Puro Pakualaman : the ceiling of the Sewotomo is damaged and some walls are cracked
6. Candi Prambanan, the World Heritage site damage to the Candi Brahma, Candi Nandi and Candi Apik
7. Damage to the Candi Plaosan
8. Damage to the Candi Sojiwan
9. Damage to the Candi Brahma
10. Damage to the Candi Siwa
11. Damage to the Tarumartani Cigar Factory that was built in 1918
12. Damage to the traditional houses in the Jeron Beteng area
13. Damage to the traditional houses in the Kota Gede, Wonokromo, Imogiri area
